Frozen in Time: The Ice Box Then and Now
The Norfolk Historical Museum will be hosting an exhibition of historic winter photographs from its collection alongside an exhibit by a dozen or more contemporary Norfolk photographers, who will show their works of the winter landscape. The historic photos, taken by Marie H. Kendall, a local photographer, showcase the Great Blizzard of 1888 and the Ice Storm of 1898. Kendall’s other works and her story will be the feature of the museum’s 2018 summer exhibition.
Also on display will be the famous “Ripper” — a 12 foot long bobsled used by Norfolk youth in the early 20th century — as well as many other historic winter artifacts.
