Workshop: Printing with Leaves and Found Materials
July 31, 2020 - November 30, 2021
FreeJoin artist/printmaker Susan Rood as she demonstrates how to use leaves, found materials, paint and paper to create art. Fun for all ages but the very young will probably need some help.
Materials List [download list]
Leaves with obvious, raised veins are best. Please use care when gathering. Cut or break off gently, don’t pull. Watch out for poison ivy. (Leaves of three = leave them be!) Look for different sizes and shapes. Enjoy the search.
Found materials such as clean plastic lids or bottlecaps, paper tubes, erasers, cardboard, netting from vegetable bags, egg cartons.
Paint: Watercolors, pan or tube or tempera or acrylic
Palette for paints: paper plate, Styrofoam tray
Paint brushes of various sizes or sponge brush
Paper towels (if you can get them!) or some other absorbent materials
Water container
Paper for printing on: could be plain computer paper, card stock, construction paper, blank index cards, watercolor paper. An assortment of different kinds and sizes would be best.
Worktable covering such as newspaper, plastic table cloth.
Wear old clothes, smock or apron if using acrylic paint.
