DESCRIPTION:Take a guided tour of the soon-to-be-completed Haystack Woods\, a community of 10 affordable homes near the Norfolk town center. Houses are designed for low total cost of ownership using “net zero” technology\, in which solar energy production matches year-round energy needs. \nThe tour will be led by trustees of the Foundation for Norfolk Living\, sponsor and developer of Haystack Woods. They will define and discuss the terms “affordable housing” and “net zero\,” and present a brief history of how the development progressed from an idea to reality. \nMeet in the designated parking area at Haystack Woods\, which is accessible by going up the newly created Haystack Woods Road. For directions\, enter address “34 Old Colony Road\, Norfolk CT” to your map app. Once there\, you will find a new road with signs directing you up Haystack Woods Road to the parking area. There will be just one tour\, so please arrive no later than 10 a.m. The tour will be limited to 25 people.
