Star-gazing at Dennis Hill

Head up to the pavilion at Dennis Hill State Park for a special star-gazing experience. Guided by Aton Forest’s knowledgeable astronomer, Matthew Johnson, under just a sliver of a moon, participants will explore the dark night sky. Telescopes will be at the ready before the sun sets at 8:07.

The weather forecast looks cloudy with possible storms this evening, so this event is cancelled. Our astronomer says, “This unfortunately is the nature of a hobby subject to the whims of New England weather. One drop of moisture on the objective lens surfaces and eyepieces of my optics is damaging to the expensive anti-reflective coatings.”
