Photographer Christopher Little's show pays homage to George Hurrell, the legendary Hollywood studio photographer. In the 1930s and 1940s, Hurrell presented the image of glamour to the world. Take a guided tour of Battell Chapel's magnificent stained glass windows, designed by D. Maitland Armstrong and Louis Comfort Tiffany. Three large windows designed by Armstrong and made of opalescent glass fill the west end of the chapel. Starting in 1884, photographer Marie Hartig Kendall chronicled the town of Norfolk and its environs in striking images that captured moving locomotives, historic weather events, economic development and bucolic pastimes. Many new photographs and objects have been added to this year’s exhibition. They include a rare photograph printed on glass and made to hang in a window, dozens of Kendall postcards recently acquired from a local estate and a look at the process of conserving period photographs.
