Garden Tour: Woodland Pathways

When the owners, both garden designers, acquired the house (and garden) next door, they decided to use the intervening woodland to link the two. Large shrubs and a lawn form a transition from the mature garden surrounding their original house into the woods beyond, where an artful network of pathways and shade plantings lead to the second property or allow the visitor to explore. The gardens around the second house, now their residence, are being restored and expanded, and the vegetable beds have been planted with a new variety of crops.

Park on the road and walk up the driveway to take the loop from the first garden through the woods to the second garden, and down its driveway to the road again. Some steps.
