A special event designed to showcase the town’s many natural and cultural offerings.
Join us for the world premieres (Saturday) and second showings (Sunday) of two short one-act plays, written and directed by Norfolk residents Marinell Crippen and Sara Heller. Both plays are cast entirely with Norfolk residents.
“Let’s Play” by Marinell Crippen is set in the early 1970’s. It’s about young girls’ friendships as they navigate difficult situations. These kids are funny, honest, playful, and sometimes tough in the ways they interact with each other.
“Barren” by Sara Heller is the story of a woman’s choice to be a surrogate. It is a reflection on how this woman’s complicated relationship with her own mother contributed to this choice and how the loving but brief relationships brought forth by the surrogacy changed her life forever.
These plays are meant for audiences preteen and up. Masks are encouraged but not required. To reserve a free seat, please call the Norfolk Library at 860-542-5075 or click here to register online.
