Norfolk Chamber Music Festival Concert

Throughout Winter Weekend in Norfolk, you are invited to listen to Rendezvous with Benny Goodman, a Norfolk Chamber Music Festival concert recorded last summer with clarinetist David Shifrin and the Miró Quartet highlighting the versatility of the clarinet. “With a background in klezmer, classical and jazz idioms,⁠ [Benny] Goodman also performed and recorded many works⁠ from the classical repertory, and premiered new classical⁠ compositions,” says composer/arranger⁠ David Schiff.⁠ “In all these endeavors, Goodman could immediately be⁠ identified by the warmly expressive sound of his clarinet, a⁠ sound that immediately inspired the young David Shifrin⁠ to take up that instrument.
