Shedding Light: 200 Years of Art & Music in Norfolk

February 24 at 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

This exhibition presents the long and storied history that art and music have had in Norfolk. Artists and musicians such as Samuel Coleridge Taylor, Jean Sibelius, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Cage, Ben Shahn, Josef Albers, Chuck Close and Eva Hesse had varied roles in Norfolk but each contributed to a long-term objective: to educate and elevate or, in the words of Carl Stoeckel, “to shed light on culture, music, art and other matters pertaining to higher life.”
