Norfolk has miles of trails all over town, most of them maintained year-round by the Norfolk Land Trust and Great Mountain Forest. They are open for the public to enjoy on foot, snowshoes or skis, so put on something warm and come on out! Trail maps are linked from the organization names above.
Great Mountain Forest's sugar house will be open to visitors, provided there is enough sap to boil. The Forest has a 70-year tradition of collecting and boiling sap, making maple syrup and bottling it for sale; its collection system and evaporator are thoroughly up to date, but heat for boiling still comes from wood.
